we know that when light intensity is low photosynthesis is low and in plant at compensation point where respiration is equal to photosynthesis plants would not release oxygen and we should have to die but we are alive why

How does lack of oxygen affect photosynthesis?

  • Low oxygen reduced respiratory losses from leaves and reduced the proportion of soluble carbohydrate converted to polysaccharide in all plant parts. Thus, low-oxygen environments decrease the utilisation of assimilates which then may lead to inhibition of photosynthesis.
