We donot make our own food directly, we cook our food with the help of fire.

Heterotrophs are those organisms which cannot prepare their own food with the help of raw materials like the autotrophs. Autotrophs like green plants are the organisms which can prepair their own food with the help of raw materials like sunlight, carbon dioxid, water.

As, we donot perform photosynthsis and cannot prepair our own food with the help of raw materials, thus, we are heterotrophs.
