It is true that humans do not have any control over nature's laws such as flowing of river and growth of trees.   We avoid human laws by giving bribe or running away from police. But if we break natural laws, we cannot save ourselves from punishment.   Nature punishes us in the form of floods, earthquakes, global warming, melting of glaciers etc.
