Answer:

When you swallow, a flap called the epiglottis moves to block the entrance of food particles into your larynx and lungs. The muscles of the larynx pull upward to assist with this movement. They also tightly close during swallowing. That prevents food from entering your lungs.

Answer:

If you know the basic anatomy of humans you may know that there are two different passage for food and air respectively(they are not same as you think). The food passes through the oesophagus or the food pipe and the air passes through the trachea or the wind pipe and they reach their respective functional organs i.e,the somach and the lungs respectively. Thoughnthe both passages are commonly connected from mouth(as we can take both air and food through mouth) they are seperated from each other just like the way we seperate salt water pipe and fresh water pipe in our kitchen sink.More over there is a tap system like folding in the starting point of trachea called epiglottis that prevents entry of food into trachea (wind pipe) while eating . Entry of any food particle or any foreign particle other than the air we breathe results in cough in which the epiglottis works to spit them out of trachea…Hope you understand…Have a happy day..

I hope this may help you

May God bless you

Good morning have a great day
