Constitution saves us from ourselves means that it saves us from our kind only as if we will be knowing about the penalties, fines and punishments that law prescribes on fouls we will not be doing them and we will be safe and also from other people.

Answer:

We also need a constitution to protect us from ourselves because of the "internal and external conflicts"; we sometimes are confused to determine whether the decision we have taken or we will take are nice/ fine for ourselves or not.; this situation considered as internal conflict and external conflicts conclude that "the decisions taken by us which cause dissatisfaction to someone else and also a bit to us ,called external conflicts .

To know our limitations by which we can protect ourselves is propagated to us by the constitution, it helps / controll us to overcome those "internal and external conflicts", thus it( constitution) is necessary for us to save us from ourselves.
