1) The currently in use sources, i.e. fossil fuel reserves, are limited and over exploited.

2) If we do not find any alternate sources, we may soon be forced back into the stone ages.

3) Using fossil fuel is releasing vast reserves of carbon dioxide stored in form of carbon in fossil fuel since millions of years.

4) Increasing the carbon dioxide level is causing global warming and making Earth inhabitable.

5) From the futuristic view point, fossil fuel is ineffective fuel when it comes to space travel and exploration. New sources have to be found to make space travel more accessible.
