• Natural resources available on earth are of two types: Renewable and Non-Renewable.
• Renewable resources are those that are present in vast amount and can undergo quick replenishment, hence do not get exhausted, like, Sun, Wind, etc.
• Non-Renewable resources are those which get produced by time-consuming processes and so if rate of utilisation is  higher than its rate of formation, it can get exhausted. Eg: Fossil fuels, glacier derived fresh water.
• Management of resources:

1. Natural Resources need to be judiciously utilised by the present generation so that they can be sustained for a longer period of time for the use by the future generations.
2. This also gives the nature sufficient period of time to rejuvenate, reproduce and replenish the used resources.
