We observe that the wheels of buses and trucks are larger and broader than the wheels of cars or scooters. Why ?
Answers
Answer:
Buses and Trucks have heavier and bigger wheels that cars and scooters due to the following reasons: ... Heavier wheels are bigger and this means the truck and buses will have more contact with the surface of the ground. This reduces the pressure exacted on the ground meaning less damage done on roads
Answer:
The tyres are wider for the same reason that big trucks and heavy equipment has larger wheels and more of them. Any vehicle requires traction to move and steer and the only contact a vehicle has with the road is the small area where the tyres are touching the pavement. This small area, compared to the entire size/area of the vehicle, is referred to as the contact patch. More wheels, larger diameter and wider tyres increase the contact patch and spread the weight of the load/vehicle across more area.
