Explanation:

Burning of fossil fuels is a main cause of CO2 and greenhouse gases .

Fossil fuels are carbonaceous compounds which when burning in air releases carbon dioxide gas, the main gas which causes global warming. This gas traps heat rays of the sun inside the surface of the earth and thus increases the temperature.

This is called Greenhouse effect and consequence of this effect is global warming. The temperature of the earth will rise gradually.

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere act like a mirror and reflect back to the Earth a part of the heat radiation, which would otherwise be lost to space.

The higher the concentration of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the more heat energy is being reflected back to the Earth. The emission of carbon dioxide into the environment is mainly from burning of fossil fuels.

HELLO MATE, HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

Fossil fuels are generally the mixtures of carbon based compounds. On burning fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum and natural gas, they produce carbon dioxide gas which is a greenhouse gas. The increase in levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere cause global warming.
