We say flow of current is the flow of positive charges but as we have studied protons I.e. positive charges are inside nucleus and cannot be taken out. than what is flowing as current??
Please give relevant answers..

flow of current is flow of free electrons inside a conductor.

gungarima: Direction of current is opposite to the direction of electrons then how electrons produce current?
Anonymous: i jsut have read it in my book
gungarima: That's why I have this doubt as I too have read in book .
habib003: that is conventional current bro.....taken only for convention long before electron was discovered
habib003: and positive charges mean cations and they do flow opposite to the direction of electrons and this cations r formed bcz of the free electrons of the metal as they r losely bound to the nucleus.....

Current is NOT flow of Protons, but it's flow of free electrons.

When electrons move , they displace Protons from their place ,ultimately leading Proton to move away .
