We see many man-made materials in our day-to-day life. For what purposes are they produced?

Man made materials are prepared by man by his efforts by raw materials which are subjected to various chemical process.

we use large number of man made things in our daily life like:

1.Glass which is prepared from sand.

2. Plastics which are widely used .

3.Rayon --Artificial silk,
4.Polyester --making conveyer belt, sails for sail boats
5 Acrylic --Artificial wool for sweaters, shawls, blankets,
6.Nylon---making textiles, ropes, bristles for tooth brush, parachute material.

Reason to prepare man made materials:

As natural fibres like wool, silk are very costly.
it is not accessible to all.

Production and maintenance of natural clothes are very difficult and time taking.

On the other hand Man made materials are

---> Durable
--> cheaper
---> Readily available
--> easy to maintain.
---> Accessible to every one.

Man made material :- Man made material are those material which comes from natural material (Nature)  through chemical process.
From morning time to evening, we totally depends upon it, either toothbrush,comb, vehicle or bed sheet we are very closed to it.

Man made material are synthetic materials.
Paper, fiberglass, plastic, Nylon , Rayon etc.

For what purposes are they produced ? 

(i) Nylon :- Volleyball net, Basketball net or even every type of net in daily uses is made up of Nylon.
(ii) Plastic :- Cup, Plastic rulers, toothbrush, Plastic bags,  bottles,Containers etc.
(iii) Rayon / Polyester :- Tent , raincoat , umbrella etc.
(iv) Paper (Made from wood) :- Newspaper, notebook, 


[In short, Chemically natural things changes to something else, then it will be called as a man made material.]
