Consumerism has lead scientists to sharpen their skills to re-think of alternatives. This is to say that, demand for food has drastically upsurged and it enforced us to hike the food production to meet the significant demands of society. However, the next question arises at what cost to the environment?

To commence with, there are in fact, several possibilities to elevate the ways of food production. First and foremost, deserts! it looks surprising, but the fact is we can turn huge acres of un farmed soil lands into fruitful farm lands. To exemplify this, worlds most populous country, China has made unreality into intriguing reality. They turned barren desert soil lands into green paddy fields with sophisticated techinques.

Apart from this, Vertical farming which is ubiquitous in western countries is quiet proven technique in enhancing food production without deteriorating earth's environment. To elucidate in details, entrepreneurs and environmentalists who are keen about future generations have constructed large iron rails vertically in warehouses and created fertile soil beds in racks over iron rails horizontally. Consequently, these soil beds act as nourishments for plants and ultimately yields abundant output.

In conclusion, I recapitulate that, although enormous surge in population threaten sustainability of earth, wise practices such as vertical farming coupled with efficient and effective usage of deserts lead to tremendous production of food supplies without disrupting nature.

Modern day agricultural practices is the best factor to justify the statement “ Increase food Production without degrading our Environment”

Explanation:

Traditional Agriculture Method:

  • In traditional method of agriculture, the main focus was given to quality of the crop and not on the quantity of the crop. It is because the quality blindfolds the quantity.
  • Thus framers used natural manures and vegetables and animal wastes as fertilizers which had no degrading effect both on the crop as well the environment in which it was used.

Modern Agricultural Practices:

  • Modern agricultural practices are concentrating on high yield and they are not bothering about the quantity.
  • Thus in order to increase the harvest, they are utilizing genetically modified seed, hybrids, highly concentrated fertilizers which causes degrading effect to both the land as well as the environment.
  • The modern agricultural practice must take help of innovation but must not become slave of it.
