As after an earthqack the condition building may not be good to hide there and building get destroyed and fall on you.so it is better to go to a blank and open area like field or playground which is better and safe choice.

Yeah we should not enter as the things has been become lighter and their is also afraid in your mind that the thing is going to fall right now and we have to take shelter under a table if you are locked in a room the measures to become safe from this are-
1.take shelter under table.
2.try to make distance from the things which may easily fall on you.
3.try to escape from that area.
