we use thermocol plates in parties Are they biodegradable how will they affect the environment
Answers
Answer:
no they are not biodegradable they do not decompose and they cause soil pollution
Answer:
they are not biodegradable.
Explanation:
often after parties we throw these thermocol plates away and these plates are dumped in oceans or any water bodies or dumped in barren lands. according to research, thermocol or styrofoam plates takes years to decompose and when they are burnt they release toxic gases. so if you dump these plates in a barren land often people burn them and thus cause IMMENSE air pollution. if they are dumped in water bodies many times marine animals eat them and in turn sometimes we eat them, but either way there is biological damage or health issues. these plates also often dont submerge therefore accumulation on the surface of the water cuts the oxygen flow to the marine animals below and thus there is extinction , pollution, climate changes resulting into global warming. try to ban these products as they cause a lot of problems.
glad if I could help.
