For carrying out reaction in lab dilute acid is used as it has less acid concentration and is less harmful

for, carrying out a reaction of zinc granules with sulphuric acid we must take dil.sulphuric acid....

because the reaction b/ w zinc and conc. sulphuric acid is highly exothermic reaction which may cause splash or any injury.

hence,we carry out reaction of Zinc with dil.sulphuric acid.
