we we put water on a plastic mug then the water is not absorbed. but when we put water on a cloth then the water is absorbed why?explain.

this is because cloth has many tiny holes

we put water on a plastic mug then water is not absorbed but when we put water on a cloth then the water is absorbed ...this is because of the density... plastic mug is so dense than cloth ...the particles of plastic mug is fixed in such a way that they are rigit and we can't compress it or change it's shape where as cloth is so soft and have ability to absorb liquid.
hence it easily absorb water.
