We wrap a blanket around a person whose clothes have caught fire because this will cut off the supply of air and the fire will stop/die down.

for the burning of fire ,oxygen is required.so if a blanket is wrapped around the burning persons body the supply of the oxygen is cut off hence the fire stops burning
