The Lake Isle of Innisfree by William Yeats expresses the idea that nature offers an inherently restorative place where human beings can go to escape the corrupting influences and chaos  of civilization

Explanation:

  • People are too accustomed to function superficially without any knowledge about the value of practicing ethics that it  fully overlooks the cultivation of virtues and the disciplining and training of the inner self.On one hand, starvation, poverty, and misery, and, on the other, sensuous pleasures and sense life have played havoc, in such a manner that chaos and confusion reign all over the globe.
  • Therefore, "Happiness" implies how physical and emotional well-being is a required necessity on our path to life's goals, how inward fulfillment is a precious resource and how full faithfulness towards others leads you to unity and harmony with others. Those are life's jewels that can not be destructed or compromised, but that shine by delicate, simple duties.
  • The speaker at the Innisfree Island Lake spends most of time in a daydream. He talks about Innisfree Island in an idealist way and he mentions the almost mystical quality of the different times of the day and the unbroken solitude and harmony he would attain once he goes. He explicitly relates to nature and the entire story, and the end shows that the speaker dreams so intently about reaching Innisfree, since he lives in a place where the natural elements that are critical to his happiness ar not present
  • The poet states that in the land of Innisfree he would have absolute peace of mind. Around midnight, rare lanterns turn red and in the evening they are full of tiny sparrows. The poet says that he will go there forever and enjoy the beauty of nature throughout his life. He will hear the lake water's lapping sound and he would hear this sound in the  core of his heart.
