Weight of a object is 5kg and volume of the object is 3L.

(i) Calculate the upthrust experienced by the object.

(ii) Calculate the apparent weight of the object.​

Weight of the object in air = 5 kg = 5000 gf

Volume of the object = 3 l

= 3000 cm^3 [ 1L=1000 cm^3]

Upthrust = Volume of solid × density of liquid × g

= 3000 cm^3 × 1 g/ cm^3 × g

= 3000 gf. Ans.

ii) apparent weight = True weight-upthrust

= 5000 - 3000

= 2000 gf.

= 2 kg. ans.
