Weight of an object is 70N on earth. What is the mass of the object on a planet where value of acceleration

due to gravity is 5m/s².

(Take g on earth= 10m/s²)

weight (Newton)= mass (kilogram) × gravity (metre per second)

On Earth:

70 = m × 10

mass of the object = 7 Kg

On another planet:

w= 7 × 5

weight of the body = 35 N on the other planet

The mass of a body remains constant irrespective of the force with which the planet attracts a body towards itself hence the mass of the body will remain 7 Kg on both the planets but the weight will change.

So i think you have written the question wrong, you should have asked what is the weight of the object on a planet not mass as it remains same everywhere.

You can ask a question if you have a doubt on this topic. I will answer.
