because on earth gravity is present. so the wieght of an object becomes w= mg bt on moon the gravity is not present so the wieght becomes less than the wieght found on earth.

Answer:The accaleration due to gravity on Earth and Moon is different

Explanation:

Weight is given by W= mg, where m is the mass of the object and g is the acceleration due to gravity.

In the Earth, g = 9.8 m/s

In Moon, g = 1/6th of that of the earth.

It is due to the variations in g that the weights of objects on Earth and Moon are different.
