The Total Number Of Apples Is 52.

GIVEN

Weight of 1 apple = 70 grams

Weight of 1 orange = 50 grams

Total weight of both fruits = 4940 grams

The number of Apples is twice that of the number of oranges.

TO FIND

The Total Number of apples.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows -

Let the total number of oranges be, x

so, Total number of Oranges = 2x

Now,

weight of 1 apple = 70 grams

So, the weight of 2x apple = 140x grams.

Also,

Weight of 1 orange = 50 grams

so, the weight of x oranges = 50x grams.

According to the question,

Total weight of fruits = 4940 grams.

So,

50x + 140x = 4940

Solving for x, we get -

190x = 4940

x = 4940/190 = 26

So, the number of oranges is 26

The number of apples is twice of oranges,

So, the Number of apples = 26× 2 = 52.

Hence, the total number of Apples is 52.
