Applying Borders and Shading to Tables:
- Select the cells, rows, or columns you want to format.
- To apply the borders and shading to an entire table, you can select the entire table or simply position the insertion point cursor inside the table without a selecting any rows, columns, or cells.
- Click Table from the menu bar and select Borders and Shading.
- Click the Borders tab.
- Select the line style.
- Select a line color from the Color drop-down menu.
- In the Border box, click Box to apply the border to all four sides. Or, click in the preview area to apply the border to selected sides. To remove a border from a side, click it again. You can apply different style borders to each side.
- Click the Shading tab.
- Select the fill percent.
- Select the foreground color from the ForeGround drop-down menu.
- Select the background color from the Background drop-down menu.
- Click OK to apply the borders and shading settings.

NOTE : -
If there are existing borders, you can use the “eye dropper” tool to set the border style. Move the pointer to the Border preview area. Hold down the Ctrl (PC) or Option (Mac) key (the cursor changes to an eye dropper) and click on an existing border to select that style and color.
