Abdul , while driving to school, computes his average speed to be 20km/h.On his return journey on the same route to home ,there was less traffic and his average speed is 40 km/h.What is Abdul's average speed of the trip.( From shome to school and from school to home total ).

Average speed = v + u / 2

v = 40 km/hr

u = 20 km/hr

 \frac{40 + 20}{2}  =  \frac{60}{2}  \\  \\  =  > 30


That's the answer.

Total speed is equal to 40 plus 20 km/hr=60km per hour
Therefore average speed is equal to40 + 20 \div 2 = 30km per hour
