Answer:

Teachers play a significant role in everyone's life. They motivate kids to pursue their dreams and also make them better personalities.

For kids, showing their affection to teachers matter the most. With no doubt, they are ready to do anything to impress their teachers — be it in the form of cards, speech, gifts, chocolates etc.

However, the headache goes to parents as they need to prep their kids for the Teacher’s Day. Most of the parents would be running here and there to train their little one for the celebration.

Although a wish or a hug can make a teacher happy, let’s see how to make the day more memorable with a speech.

Here is a sample speech for the students to show their gratitude towards their mentor.

Dear teachers and my dear friends,

As we all know, we have gathered here for the Teacher’s Day celebration. Let me take this opportunity to respect and thank our teachers for their services to the society and the nation.

As we all are aware teachers are the backbone of our society. They strive hard to shape the students’ character nobly to make them an ideal citizen of the nation.

Before we commence the celebration, I would like to tell you why do we celebrate Teacher's Day and why is it important.

Why September 5 is celebrated as Teachers' Day in India

In India, we celebrate Teacher’s Day on September 5, the birthday of India’s second President Dr

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan

. He was a great scholar and favourite teacher of his students. One day his students came and seek his permission to celebrate his birthday. Instead of celebrating his birthday, he suggested students celebrate his birthday as Teacher’s Day in respect of all teachers. Since then, September 5th is observed as Teacher’s Day in India.

Last but not least, I would like to mention one quote by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, in which he says “The purpose of education is to make good human beings with skill and expertise. Enlightened human beings can be created by teachers.”

Thank you, everyone.

Hope this helps you
