\huge\underline\mathtt{Answer!!...}

when brother was 10 years old then his sister was 5 years old...

so, the difference between there age is

  • 10 - 5 = 5

the difference un their ages is 5 years...

Now, brother is 40 years old...

so, his sister would be 35 years old...

  • 40 - 5 = 35 years

because brother was 5 years older than his sister...

It depends on whether or not she is still alive. If she is alive, then she is approximately 5 years younger than your current age because the reference point is Your Age minus Sister’s Age equals Age Difference or 10 - 5 = 5. This is only exactly true if both of you were born on the same day. If not, then your age difference is somewhere between 4 years and 1 day through 5 years and 364 days (not including leap year—add one more day every four years).

With this logic, your sister is somewhere between Age 34 1/365 and 35 364/365.

orrrrrr

It’s really quite simple. Since your sister was five and you were ten, your sister was five years younger than you. Now, here we get to the harder part.

Since you didn’t give us yours and your sister’s birthday, technically we can’t be exact on how many years old she is.

I am just going to pretend that when you were 10 and she was 5, you both already had your birthdays for that year. We know it could be 34, 35, or 36. She would be 35 if you both already had your birthdays. If her birthday is before yours and she has had hers but you haven’t, she would actually be 36. If your birthday was before hers and you had yours and she hasn’t, she would be 34.

Now, if when you were 10 and she was 5, if she already had her birthday and you haven’t, she would then be either 35, 36, or 37 since at the end of that year, you would be 11, thus, increasing the possible age by 1 year. 5+1=6.

If she hasn’t had here’s yet, but you have, it would decrease it by 1.

If you are confused on what would happen if you both didn’t have it yet for that year, that just means that the possible answers would still be 34, 35, or 36. The reason why is because you have had your birthdays for the last year though. Technically, we don’t know which year it is. This makes it 34, 35, or 36.

NOTE: if this is a math homework problem, just put 35. They will probably count you wrong. But from what I believe, the actual answer would be 33–37.

ANSWER: 33–37 *PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG*
