There were 16 mahajanapadas, namely: Kasi, Kosala, anga, Magadha, Vajji, Malla, Chedi, Vatsa, Kuru, Panchala, Machcha, Surasena, Assaka, Avanti, Gandhara and Kamboja. They were grouped and named as mahajanapadas. In my state there are some of mahajanapadas.
