day he works and will be find Rs. 60 for each day he is absent if the receives Rs. 2540 in
all, for how many days did he remain absent.

Let the number off days worked be x

Number of days he didn't work = 20-x.

Money he receives in a day = ₹280

Money deducted for each day he's absent = ₹60

Money he received = ₹2540

280x - 60(20-x) = 2540

280x - 1200 + 60x = 2540

340x - 1200 = 2540 ---------> 340x = 3740

x = 11

The number of days he remained absent = 20-11------> 9
