west bengal is in east then why is it called as 'west' Bengal ?

Anurasha: It is called west begal as it is in the west side of Bangladesh Bangladesh was once a part of India and now it is another country and we are left with its western side that is why we call it as west bengal

Bengal was partitioned... as west and east during the British rule....east Bengal was included in Bangladesh after independence and west Bengal remains as a part of india

west bengal is in east and been called west bengal because after independence the part from bengal and bangladesh which were been divided in that region of east .that's why it is termed as west bengal..
