Western Ghats are the source of many large rivers but there are only few rivers which flow into Arabian sea because
1. The coastal plain between Western ghats and Arabian sea are very narrow and rivers transverse very short distance.Rivers like sabarmati, Narmada etc.
2.whereas most of the pensular river rises from slopes of wester ghats and flow towards eastwards and drain into bay of bengal because of topography of the region.example Godavari. Krishna etc
