Western Rajasthan is drier than Eastern Rajasthan. Why?

Because South - Western rain coast rains most of their water to western coast. So, the Eastern Rajasthan get much rain then Eastern Rajasthan.

Rajasthan is under the influence of S.W. summer monsoons. The Aravallis system lies winds parallel to the direction of S.W. monsoon winds coming from Arabian Sea. So this mountain system is unable to check these winds and hence, western Rajasthan is practically dry.
