Western Rajasthan receives no rain from the Arabian sea branch of the SW monsoon beacause the Aravalli range is parallel to the direction of SW monsoon as a result it is unable to obstruct the monsoon wind hence not receiving any rain from the Arabian sea branch. Western Rajasthan receives no rain from the Arabian Sea branch because winds run parallel to Aravalli hills as such they pass without any obstacles.
