No because western thoughts and ideas such as by British, who had ruled India for near about 200 years, always tried to break the Indian's unity and rule over India forever as they did

Answer:
The suppression that most Indians felt under the rule of colonial powers, was what actually prompted nationalism among Indians. The very thought among the common man that they were living the lives of second-class citizens in their own country, brought out nationalism in them. Progressive leaders and thinkers helped to channel this collective fervour and bring it out as a nationalist movement.
The West had outspoken thinkers and authors, whose works helped to a certain extent, in shaping the ideals of thinkers and leaders of India. However, this would have played only a minor role, in bringing out Indian nationalism.
