Wet clothes dry up similarly when we spill water on the floor it dries up after sometime .in both cases change of state from liquid to vapour takes place without reaching the boiling point .(1) what is this phenomenon called ?(2) explain how the change occurs at temperature lower than the boiling point ?(3) mention the three factors which determine the rate at which the change of state from water to vapour occurs at room temperature .

(1)This phenomenon is called evaporation.

(2)The liquid takes heat from its surroundings (this results in the increase in temperature of the liquid ). This heat is used by the liquid to increase the  kinetic energy between the particles (as kinetic energy increases with an increase in temperature). Now, as we know that the kinetic energy is highest in gases, the increase in kinetic energy results in the conversion of the liquid into gas.

(3)The three factors are - surface area, humidity, wind speed.

this phenomenon is called evaporation

it orchids at room temperature because due to its high surface coverage

any three phenomenon which can increase it or by increase the heating or by wind speed or the humidity in our climate
