The problems faced by people before independence were as follows:

• Slavery: The first and foremost problem faced by the people of India was Slavery. They were treated as slaves by the British rulers.
• Lack of education: Due to racist behavior of British rulers, education was given only to the individuals belonging to rich families. The poor and down trodden were deprived of it.
• More work less wage: Before independence the people were asked to work for more time, and were paid very less.
