2 must be added to make 3 as zero.

Step-by-step explanation:

polynomial is :            x^2-5x+4 ..................eq 1

polynomial Value at 3 is = 3*3 - 5*3+4

                                           = 9-15+4    = -2

means if we add 2 ti the polynomial ,3 would become the zero .

check :

new polynomial after adding 2 to eq 1 :

                          x^2-5x+4+2

                        = x^2-5x+6 ..............eq 2

putting x=3 in eq 2 we get

3*3 - 5*3 +6

9-15+6
