Answer

Difference between total surface area and curved surface area is 200π.

Given that

Radius of cylinder is 10cm

To find

Difference between total surface area and curved surface area of cylinder

Solution

Let

r is radius of cylinder

tsa as total surface area of cylinder

csa as curved surface area of cylinder

As know that

tsa = 2\pi(h + r)

where h is height of cylinder

and

csa = 2\pi \times r \times h

As per given condition

difference \: between \: tsa \: and \: csa =

 = 2\pi \times r \times (h - r) - 2\pi \times r \times h

 = 2\pi \times r \times h - 2\pi \times  {r}^{2}  - 2\pi \times r \times h

positive and negative term 2πrh will reduce hence

 = 2\pi \times  {r}^{2}  \\  = 2\pi \times 1 {0}^{2}

hence

 = 200\pi

Difference between total surface area and curved surface area is 200π.
