Whar so you think terrible fish in the last line symbolize

The poet refers to the fish in the last line to show how the lady gets upset on seeing the signs of ageing on her face, the fish is 'terrible' to be hold, and so is the lady now.
Btw..for your kind information....NOW this poem is not in SYLLABUS of Claas 10th CBSE 2018-19
