The right answer is “SIXTY”

When you take out the last two letters T and Y then the remaining three letters will form the word SIX which is what given in the question.

It's a classic example of riddle.

Initially it's a 5 letter word then how is it even possible to be 6 after deducting 2 letters? Number of letters should be (5-2) = 3

Now read again carefully there is no indication that after removing 2 letters there are 6 letters left... it states that there is only '6' left which can be written as 'SIX' which consists 3 letters.

Thus the first 3 letters of the word is   S I X _ _

Now think about any words with six in its beginning!!

ring any bell?

like 'SIXTY' , 'SIXER' (though it's not a traditional word, used during cricket matches).
