What academic, educational or other experiences have you had that provide a foundation for participating in the honors college?
Answers
In order to gain a membership in the Honors College the students should possess:
1. A score of at least 1200 on the Math and Verbal sections of the SAT or they should have a score of at least 27 on the ACT.
2. An unweighted GPA of minimum 3.75 on a scale of 4 and rank in the top 20% of the high school graduating class.
3. An essay which addresses 1 of the questions on the application form.
Other aspects of the high school academic record, including courses taken and type of program completed are also taken into consideration.
The Honors College admits transfer and continuing UNT students according to their achievement in the college classes already taken.
A transfer or continuing student must possess:
1. A minimum GPA of 3.35 on all college work.
2. Fewer than 72 credit hours by the time he takes the first honors course at UNT.
3. An overall academic record which is compatible with the Honors College goals and practices.
