Answer: The poem 'Abou Ben Adhem' has as its moral that we should cherish God's creation, mankind. It makes God very happy. God appreciates Ben Adhem's affection for his fellowmen in the verse. Rather than looking for holiness outside, we should look for love and goodness in others.

An alternative end could include something other than the moral, something that twists and maybe contradicts the love of God and how people could be cruel?
