what actually the word,"irony" in the poem or chapter of englisheans?

the word irony is something which is assumed as happened but actually it is not

irony means that given same its opposite. for example in poem we tell how to cut trees but irony means one side poet tell how to cut tree but actually it gave msg not to cut tree
