ANSWER
The cell wall is the outer rigid protective covering of plant cells, fungal cells and some prokaryotes. Plant cell wall may have lignin for strength, silica for stiffness and protection, cutin for preventing loss of water, wax as water repellant and suberin for impermeability (e.g., cork cells and endodermal cells are suberised in higher plants).
Suberin and cutin are highly polymerised fatty acids which do not melt and are insoluble in fat solvents, therefore, impervious to gases and water. Cutin forms cuticle and suberin are mainly found in cork cells of phellem.
