Benefits of osmotic pressure method to calculate molecular mass are:
1) All the colligative properties depend on molality but osmotic pressure depends on molarity of the solutions.
2) It is possible to calculate molecular mass even at varying temperature as molarity depends on temperature using osmotic pressure method while the other colligative properties are not effective as they depend on molality which do not shows significant changes with temperature.
3) It is possible to calculate the molecular mass of compounds which have high molecular mass such as proteins , carbohydrates, polymers which are stable only at some optimum temperatures as they denature at higher temperatures
