The amount of dissolved oxygen is water is comparatively less than that present in air.

Around 21% of O2 is present in the atmosphere whereas only 0.03% dissolved O2 is found in water. This proves as an advantage to terrestial organisms as they have higher levels of oxygen present aorund them.
