Explanation:

Aquatic animals use the oxygen dissolved in water to carry out respiration. since the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water is low as compared to the amount of oxygen in the air ,therefore the rate of breathing in aquatic animals is much faster than terrestrial animal. the terrestrial animal use the oxygen of air or atmosphere for breathing and respiration . thus, a terrestrial animal has an advantage over an aquatic animals in regard to obtaining oxygen for respiration that is surrounding by an oxygen rich atmosphere from where it can take any amount of oxygen

Answer:

Terrestrial organisms take up oxygen from the atmosphere whereas aquatic animals obtain oxygen from water. Air contains more O2 as compared to water. Since the content of O2 in air is high, the terrestrial animals do not have to breathe faster to get more oxygen.
