The differentiation (more or less) of neutrons in an atom results in its formation of isotopes( same atomic number but different mass numbers).

prantika2: ur welcome ^_^
prantika2: did it helped?
Shashwat88: It did. Working for a documentary on Bhabha Atomic Research Center so some basic concepts have to be clarified.
prantika2: okkh.
Shashwat88: Yup. Are you a student ?
prantika2: i m in class 9.
Shashwat88: Very Good :)
prantika2: can u mark it as brainliest plzzzzyyy....(request)
Shashwat88: how to do that ?
prantika2: u will see that a yellow button will appear...when two have answered...when that yellow button appears click on it beside my answer..thank u.

The difference of neutrons present in a nucleus of an atom does not change much of its characteristics (they are changed by presence or absence of protons) , rather it gives rise to isotopes of that respective element {isotopes are atoms of an element with same atomic number (number of protons ) but different mass number (sum of neutrons and electrons/protons).

AcharyaVII: If it helps u can mark it as the best don't feel tempted to do so
