Patol Babu is a very practical man. He easily comes to terms with whatever life has to offer. Once he was a popular theater actor. He was in demand. People would buy tickets especially to see him. Then he had a job in the railway factory to Calcutta to work in a clerical part with Hudson and Kimberly. After many years he was returned due to the war. Ever since he has struggled to make a living, but he doesn't complain. Once he opened a variety store, which he had to wind up after 5 years. Then he had a job in Bengali firm which he had to leave because of the high handedness of his boss. For the next 10 years he served as a assurance salesman. Of late he has been paying regular visits to firm for a job. He has not succeeded in improving his lot. he does a small role in a film but does not wait to receive his payment, which he knows cannot be substantial.
