so,

= GmM/R × R/R = GmMR/R²

E = m × (GM/R) × R

(GM/R = g), 'g' = acceleration due to gravity ( taking as 10)

R= 6400 km (approx radius of earth)

m = 500g = 0.5kg (mass of object)

E = mgR

E = 0.5 × 10 × 6400

E = 32,000 joules

Hence, Energy needed for an object with mass 500g to escape earth is 32000 joules
