actually some of the hemoglobin normally in red blood cells cannot bind Oxygen and the EMI rakali determined oxygen binding capacity of hemoglobin is 1.34 ml of O2 per gram hemoglobin in 100 ml of blood there is about 15 gram of hemoglobin so that hundred ml of blood has the capacity to bind to 20.1 ml of oxygen
